Didier Demesmin, M.D.
Didier Demesmin, M.D. is an Interventional Pain Medicine Specialist who is Double Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is the founder of University Pain Medicine Center. He graduated from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he received the prestigious award for Academic Excellence in Anesthesiology. He completed an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship Program at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons – St. Luke’s Roosevelt Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Demesmin is actively involved at Rutgers University in the Office of Diversity and Academic Success in the Sciences (ODASIS). ODASIS’s Access- Med Program prepares promising Black, Latino and other undergrads from underrepresented and economically disadvantaged groups for careers in medicine, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Dr. Demesmin is a mentor to many of the students pursuing careers in medicine and is also a motivational speaker for the group. He contributes a yearly scholarship to students pursuing a career in medicine.
Dr. Demesmin is affiliated with some of the finest hospitals in Central New Jersey, including Saint Peter’s University Hospital, where he serves as the Director of Pain Medicine services, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, JFK Medical Center, and Somerset Medical Center. Dr. Demesmin is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pain Medicine in Multi-Disciplinary Pain Fellowship Program at JFK Medical Center in Edison New Jersey. In addition he is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick , New Jersey. Dr. Demesmin is the President of the Middlesex County Medical Society.
Dr. Demesmin has lectured at regional, national, and international Pain Medicine venues including instructional course lectures in China, Brazil, France and Italy. He has provided a number of presentations and Grand Rounds to physicians, and has been an instructor of numerous courses for Interventional Pain procedures and techniques. In addition, he has been a preceptor to college students, medical students, residents, and Pain Medicine Fellows.
Dr. Demesmin treats a wide spectrum of pain syndromes such as neck pain, lower back pain, sciatica, herniated disc (neck or back), failed back surgery, diabetic neuropathy, cancer pain, headache, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, arthritis, osteoporosis, and any type of joint pain, and others. Dr. Demesmin specializes in minimally invasive procedures, including but not limited to, percutaneous disc decompression, discography, epidural steroid injections, vertebroplasty, microendoscopic discectomy, intrathecal pumps, spinal cord stimulator, a variety of nerve block and minimally invasive lumbar decompression (MILD) for the treatment of spinal stenosis.
Dr. Demesmin was selected by his peers for the fourth consecutive year, and was featured on the cover of New Jersey Monthly Magazine as a Top Doctor. He was also selected by his peers s one of New Jersey’s most recommended physicians for pain treatment by the National consumer Surveys. Dr. Demesmin is an excellent clinician whose skill and expertise in diagnosing and treating are matched only by his compassion and dedication to his patients.
