Dr. Leslie Bagay is a Board Certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She completed her PM&R residency at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson/ JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, where she served as Chief Resident, after her Internal Medicine Internship year at Morristown Medical Center.
As Attending Physician, Dr. Bagay’s clinical focus is to work with patients to improve functional recovery and mobility, whether in a hospital or an outpatient setting. She maintains a diverse portfolio of medical services, including comprehensive rehabilitation evaluations, electrodiagnostic medicine
(NCS/EMG), musculoskeletal medicine, and Prosthetics and Orthotics. Dr. Bagay is invested in educating the community about rehabilitation medicine, and has lectured at various regional venues.
As Assistant Director for the PM&R Residency Program, she is committed to resident education, and works with the Program Director to provide a comprehensive and engaging rehabilitation training program for the PM&R resident physicians. She is also the Project Manager and a Reviewer for the 2015 edition of The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Review Textbook.
Dr. Bagay earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey, and also received a Distinction in Research through her research at Columbia University Medical Center. Her undergraduate Honors Thesis in neuroscience led to its publication in a leading scientific journal and presentations to the scientific community both locally and internationally.
Dr. Bagay is an active member of the Association of Academic Physiatrists, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the American Medical Association.
