Dr. Roger Rossi received his medical degree from the University of Des Moines. He completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York University, the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation, where he served as chief resident.
Presently, he is a Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is a senior physiatrist in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute where he serves as the Director of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program, and as Director of Medical Student Education. Dr. Rossi also serves as the Rehabilitation Medicine Director of Hartwyck at Edison Estates Sub-Acute Unit.
Dr. Rossi is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as sports medicine. His areas of interest include musculoskeletal medicine, sports medicine, neurodegenerative disease with emphasis on Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis as well as pediatric rehabilitation. He has authored numerous book chapters and scholarly articles and he has presented nationally and internationally. He also serves as a reviewer for professional medical journals.
Dr. Rossi is active in the field of Integrative Medicine and incorporates in his practice complementary medicine and acupuncture. He is a graduate and full member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture and completed certification training through the Department of Continuing Medical Education at UCLA Berkley and Harvard Medical School. He is a member and past chairman of the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners, Division of Acupuncture. Within the field of acupuncture, his interests include the treatment of pain and neurological disorders.
Dr. Rossi practices “Lifestyle Medicine” and has a primary focus on the improvement of function and utilizes procedures as a means to facilitate and engage patients of all ages in exercise, proper nutrition and social engagement while understanding their conditions, managing their pain and improving their quality of life. Dr. Rossi values a holistic philosophy, which emphasizes a thorough medical examination, medical history, performance enhancement and functional improvement.
